Maximizing IT Resources with Cloud Services
use of cloud computing.
A growing business requires a commensurate increase in IT staff due to the added burden of managing additional computers. However, cloud services can eliminate the need to hire additional IT personnel. Cloud providers handle a significant part of the IT staff’s responsibility, allowing the existing staff to concentrate on areas that the cloud doesn’t serve, such as hardware provisioning.
The cloud also reduces a company’s reliance on hardware purchases to expand IT services. There is no longer a need to buy an extra hard drive to increase storage capacity or acquire another server to handle email. The cloud is scalable, and it can expand capacity on-demand.
The cloud can even make traditional software licensing fees a thing of the past. It is replaced by a pay-as-you-use model, which includes the cost of hardware and managed services. By using the cloud, applications are accessed through the browser instead of installed in the computer. Fixes are handled by the cloud services provider. Cloud applications may even be accessed via mobile devices such as smartphones.
With the cloud, an SMB’s limited resources go a long way.
